Haiku and You: Experiments in Short Form Poetry
This three-part workshop will focus on the writing of haiku and related forms by introducing the basic elements of poetry and providing helpful prompt for writing. As haiku may be a way of life, you will become more aware of nature, appreciate the moment, and express aspects of the world in short form poetry influenced by an Eastern aesthetic. Open to beginners as well as others further along.
This is a 3-week course taking place on Tuesdays, 1pm-2:30pm at the Sea Isle City Library:
All registrants are required to attend the first class of a series. If absent, your spot will be given to the next in line on the Waitlist.
Antoinette Libro Braca is an educator and writer who has taught creative writing and literature courses for many years. Her poetry appears regularly in a variety of literary journals, especially those devoted to short form poetry influenced by an Eastern aesthetic, such as haiku and tanka. Since retiring from Rowan University as Professor Emerita, she continues to conduct workshops, give readings, and advocate for the literary arts. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University.
