Daywalt’s debut picture book, THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUIT spent a year on the NYT Bestseller List at #1, and remains on the list to this day, over five years later. The sequel book, THE DAY THE CRAYONS CAME HOME also spent a year as a NYT Bestseller, and his third book, THE LEGEND OF ROCK PAPER SCISSORS is a NYT Bestseller as well.

He has received 65 awards for his children’s writing, including the covetted E.B. White Read Aloud Award and the Time Magazine Top 100 Best Children’s Books of All Time.
