Ages 5+. Discover famous artists and explore their styles and techniques!
Every ArtQuest event will highlight a different famous artist and offer an art project in that artist's style!
This week, we are exploring the works of M. C. Escher, who was known for tessellations. Tessellation is a way of tiling a surface with the same shape, repeated over and over again. The trick is to create shapes that fit perfectly together, with no overlaps or gaps. We will create Escher-inspired tessellations by making unique shapes with post-it notes, then repeating it over and over onto a blank sheet of paper, before filling out the design and coloring it in with colored pencils!
ArtQuest is designed for school-aged children and tweens, 5 and older, and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program!
