In this installment of ELVISTORY - The Mid-Seventies area time of great upheaval. The war in Vietnam is over, governments are falling, the price of gas is going up, and we are nation torn apart by Watergate. Elvis is a worldwide phenomenon, riding high on his "via satellite" broadcast from Hawaii. But non-stop touring, an emotional divorce, and his personal demons are taking a toll on his mind and body.
As we enter the last years of his life, Elvis is bored with recording music and no longer has the energy to complete a show or tour. But before he makes his last farewell August 16th of 1977, Elvis makes a triumphant return to the stage. Highlights from the Aloha from Hawaii concert, The Jungle Room Sessions, and his final show broadcast on CBS
ELVIStory focuses on Elvis's music, memories from his life, and the historical moments that shaped our world, and how the events had an impact on the music of the day.
ELVIStory isn't just an Elvis Tribute Show - it's a musical history lesson! Our "Elvis-torian" guides audiences through key time periods in U.S. and World history between 1953-1977, touching upon key moments that shaped our planet today. Each "lesson" is accentuated with moments and memories of Elvis' own life, relating how the man and his music were influenced by the issues and events of the times.
With a love for performing and Elvis since he was ten, our Elvis-torian Ruben Castillo takes his passion for education and entertainment, as well as his award-winning Elvis tribute, to a whole new level with Elvis Unplugged.
