Ever go into a thrift store or antique mall, pick up a piece of glass and wonder how old it is, who made it and when? Just because glass is old, doesn't automatically make it valuable.
This beginner class will help you understand the difference between antique glass (over 100 years old), vintage glass, (at least 20 years old but less than 100 years old). and contemporary glass (new to 20 years old). You'll also understand the difference between hand blown and pressed glass, plus the naming conventions used by people who collect glass. Examples include APB, EAPG, and Elegant Glass, naming conventions like stemware, nappies, celery vase, knife rests, spooners, and salt cellars.
