Shady areas of your garden usually carry a negative connotation of desperation or frustration. Often there was little you could do about shade - the lack of color, shape and texture were hard to obtain in the past. Come and discover how you can change the dark side of your garden into a place of tranquility and color with a new outlook on the native and ornamental plants that will satisfy even the most seasoned gardener.

Joseph Alvarez has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science, is a founding member of the Cape May County Beach Plum Association, a member of the state Beekeepers Association and is active in many county and agricultural programs in South Jersey.
