Intricate Geometric Crochet Lap Blanket
In this class the person with no prior crochet experience will learn to create a colorful detailed lap blanket using only 2 basic stitches. They'll gain all the fundamental skills required to crochet any basic project such as:
...and of course the 2 simple basic stitches needed to create a beautiful geometric patterned lap blanket, eye catching enough to cherish or to gift to someone special.
MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE FIRST SESSION. More can be purchased when the student learns information needed to choose what's best suited to their preferences and projects
This is a 12-class series being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30pm-4pm at the Lower Cape branch:
All registrants are required to attend the first class of a series. If absent, your spot will be given to the next in line on the Waitlist.
More about Carol Murray: 55 years ago a great aunt taught me a few basic crochet stitches. I made simple scarves and potholders but my enthusiasm had me longing to make the fancier things that experienced crocheters made. After years of practice I began to craft intricate pieces that were of more value to me than the many monochromatic rectangles in my collection.
Over a lifetime I took pleasure in being able to share the crochet experience with friends and acquaintances. Time and again I saw, like me, they were eager to move beyond the limitations of beginner skills to create something useful and impressive in appearance. Often bored with repetitive simple projects, students gave up practicing altogether, never becoming able to create something they treasured. Year after year frustrated beginners threw in the towel before reaching their goals. I knew if I could come up with a simple design that was also visually impressive, beginners might feel inspired from the very start. They would want to keep learning and I could continue to pass this wonderful skill to future generations.
